The Dirty Dozen

  According to Well and Good’s “dirty dozen” list, here are a few of the worst chemicals found in everyday hygiene products.  Starting with Petrolatum, this chemical can create a petrochemical that forms a barrier on the skin, and makes lipsticks shine and creams smoother. Petrolatum helps skin shine in the same way as other products but is cheaper. The health concern is that it can be linked to cancer and may be combined with other impurities. This chemical is also banned in the EU but still remains in products sold in the US. Next is Propylene Glycol.
